Walking the Labyrinth in the Snow

Richard has been walking the Labyrinth every day, so it is now defined by the ridges of snow. As I walked it today (the first time for me since the snow) it was an amazing experience of physical balance as well as spiritual connection. The path is narrow and I did not want to disturb the defining walls of snow around the path. I needed to stay centered and focused as I walked my path.

Theology Art Project - December 2009

Here are a few more photographs with an attempt to improve the picture quality.

The project explored using the mystical tradition of the Kabbalah as a lens through which to illuminate two the passages in the Bible which reference sexuality: 1. Genesis 3 and 2. The Song of Songs.

The Kabbalah is the mystical tradition of the Jewish faith; the western Kabbalah, however, was revived by Christian artists and writers who were searching for the source of their creativity. Its centre piece is the Tree of Life with ten Sephiroth representing ten divine pulses and the pattern of creation.
